Beginner Dumbbell Workout

Another day of rain. Hopefully, this is the last for this weather front, so I’m back to doing workouts inside. This time it’s a Beginner Dumbbell Workout by Kayla Itsines. Instead of dumbbells, I’m using bricks.

From improved muscular strength to endurance, there are so many reasons to include strength training in your fitness routine.

This dumbbell workout for beginners is designed to be done at home, so you can focus on moving through the exercises at your own pace and progress at your own level, in an environment that you feel comfortable in. Plus, you’ll never have to wait for someone to finish using the equipment you need!

If you don’t have dumbbells, you can also easily substitute for items you have around the house, such as food cans or water bottles.

In this video, I’ll demonstrate four exercises and I want you to do 10 reps of each exercise and repeat the whole thing three times … let’s do this!

Workout

[ 7min work + 1min rest ] x 3
– Goblet Squat (10 reps)
– Shoulder Press (10 reps)
– Romanian Deadlift (10 reps)
– Bent-Over Row (10 reps)

Not near the cardio of the ‘no’ jump rope workout yesterday but still got a lot of good strength work in. Workout stats: average heart rate = 116bpm, max heart rate = 136, calories burned ~ 235.
